Halloween Festivities
On Halloween, we drove out to trunk-or-treat with our friend Melisa and her 2 boys in Quitman. This time, Isaiah rode his bike (which has a buckle) as we collected even MORE candy to add to our stash. As you can see, Eli decided to change his costume to a soldier (thank you Grandma for all the dress up costumes). Don't worry, I did let Isaiah off his bike to bounce in the jump house :) Believe it or not, as I sit here now the candy supply from Halloween has quickly diminished, and now we are left with the not-so-desirable choices----which will probably end up in the trash!

Field Trips
After two postponed dates, due to rain, we were finally able to take a field trip to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina, TX. The boys had a great time feeding the animals with Daddy. (Mommy was a little timid....I know, I'm a wimp!
Next we all enjoyed a hay ride through the pumpkin farm, and the boys were each able to choose their very own pumpkin from the patch. Isaiah found one immediately, but Eli had a harder time deciding (as he was looking for the "most perfect pumpkin in the world.") Finally, we made our choices and posed proudly for a picture :)
Our next field trip was to a Recycling Center in McKinney, TX. Eli was delighted to see the workers scooping, sorting, and finally smashing the trash.....just like his Wall-E book "SMASH TRASH." The smell was not particularly great, but not as bad as I had imagined. Needless to say, Eli is now well educated about where the trash goes after it leaves our house :)
Farewell to a Friend
Last month, Eli experienced one of the sad realities of life......his best friend Carson moved to Michigan :( We were able to treasure a few last gettogethers, as both boys attended each other's birthday parties. On the day of the move, Eli attended Carson's T-Ball game, followed by lunch and ice cream at Dairy Queen. We will always remember all the fun we had with the Collins family and hope to make a trip to Michigan sometime in the future.
Trikes & Bikes
This month I felt it was time to get Eli practicing without training wheels. After about 3-4 sessions, Eli was off and riding on his own. Below is video of his new found skill. (He is very proud of himself!)
