Birthday Boy

Last week, our little munchkin turned one year old! We invited some friends over to the house for a small party, complete with balloons, streamers, appetizers, and a froggy cake. Isaiah did quite well when it came time for the birthday song and cake---he cautiously dug in, ending up with a green face by the end. The party concluded with opening presents (which Eli pounced on, of course)! So far, Isaiah's favorite gift seems to be an elmo/cookie monster vaccuum from his Grandma Cathy. Glad you had a fun birthday, Isaiah...we love you!!!

Eli's New Smile

Eli recently had some dental work done for a few cavities in his front teeth. We were planning on putting caps on, but there was a turn of events. Once they removed the cavities from Eli's teeth, they were not strong enough to hold the caps, and his teeth came right out! As a result, Eli now is missing his 2 front teeth. There is an option of a "partial" which is fake teeth, but it is pretty costly. Jerry and I have decided that we will just wait until his permanant teeth come in. Eli's toothless grin is starting to grow on me more each day. So, I guess the theme song this month is "All I Want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth!"

Jerry's Big Day!

After a long 22 weeks of police academy, Jerry was relieved to finally graduate! His parents/family were also present to help celebrate his big day. The ceremony began as the cadets entered, walking in formation, which was very impressive! Next came a few short speeches and then a slideshow of pictures over the course of the academy. It was nice to get a better glimpse of all the faces and activites I had been hearing about all these months!

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of each cadet as they crossed the stage to receive their graduation certificate. I was so proud as I stood in line to take his picture---that's MY husband! Eli also showed his pride by dressing up as a "police officer, like Daddy." After a nice long holiday weekend, Jerry is now reporting to his department in Frisco where he will be attending yet another "mini-academy" for the next 5 weeks. Upon completion, Jerry will spend 4 more months as a field training officer, then finally hit the streets of Frisco on his own! Hang in there, Jer, you're almost there.....
